I listened to this without fail back in the ’80’s. I think it’s wonderful how each adaptation, each retelling, brought greater depth to the characters, but also the writer’s own view of this process. Rather than needing to “keep it pure,” Douglas Adams enjoyed expanding, creating, and exploring his own tales.
Anyhow, the series began, way back when, as a radio show, and this is a portion of that, when they decide to go to the Restaurant At The End Of The Universe.
There’s so much growing, evolving, integrating and revealing going on these days… It’s really helpful to have a life that allows for laughter, for silliness, for abandon, for innocence. At least, it’s what I’ve found helps.
